White House Chief of Staff John Kelly defends accused wife beater Rob Porter as a “man of true integrity and honor.” Porter resigned on Wednesday, calling the allegations leveled against him by his two ex-wives as a “smear campaign.”
Porter, who is reportedly dating White House Communications Director Hope Hicks, allegedly beat his ex-wives — Colbie Holderness and Jennifer Willoughby — during their respective marriages. The Intercept published a series of photographs showing Porter’s first wife, Holderness, with bruises on her face.
Kelly said, “Porter is a man of true integrity and honor and I can’t say enough good things about him. He is a friend, a confidante and a trusted professional. I am proud to serve alongside him.”
Kelly took a different tone when he viciously attacked Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL) by lying about her speech at the dedication of an FBI building in Florida, calling her an “empty barrel.” The controversy stemmed from Donald Trump’s poor treatment of Myeshia Johnson, the wife of fallen Green Beret Sgt. La David Johnson.
During the White House press briefing Kelly said: “When I was a kid growing up, a lot of things were sacred in our country. Women were sacred and looked upon with great honor. That’s obviously not the case anymore, as we see from recent cases.”
My two cents: John Kelly = Donald Trump and Donald Trump = John Kelly. He is no respectable and dignified addition to the White House. Just yesterday he attacked some Dreamers who wouldn’t file for DACA protection as “lazy.” He’s as much a despicable POS as Trump is.
The White House can’t take a position against domestic violence when their boss, Donald Trump, has been accused of sexual misconduct with 16 women. He was heard on an Access Hollywood tape bragging about grabbing women by the p*ssy.
