House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi slams Donald Trump’s “brazen insults and denigration” of Germany, “one of America’s most steadfast allies,” as “an embarrassment.”
Pelosi tweeted: “Donald Trump’s brazen insults & denigration of one of America’s most steadfast allies, Germany, is an embarrassment. His behavior this morning is another profoundly disturbing signal that the President is more loyal to President Putin than to our NATO allies.”

Pelosi added: “If the President leaves the Putin meeting without ironclad assurances and concrete steps toward a full cessation of Russian attacks on our democracy, this meeting will not only be a failure – it will be a grave step backward for the future of the international order and global security. A successful meeting means real action, now.”
“The President needs to remember that, as Commander-in-Chief, his duty is to protect the American people from foreign threats, not to sell out our democracy to Putin.”
During a breakfast at the NATO Summit Trump devolved into an unhinged tirade that shocked many at the table saying Germany was “captive to Russia” over energy. German Chancellor Angela Merkel immediately clapped back:
“I wanted to say that, because of current events, I have witnessed this myself, that a part of Germany was controlled by the Soviet Union. And I am very happy that we are today unified in freedom as the Federal Republic of Germany,” CNN reports.
Um, Hillary Clinton warned about Donald Trump when she said Putin would rather have a puppet as president. But what did the media do? Run with WikiLeaks stolen email dump, Hillary Clinton’s private email server, Clinton Foundation and her near-fainting spell.
