Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said “it wasn’t rain, it was bullets” as he spoke in the pouring rain at a World War II memorial event in 2017, Donald Trump dodges a visit to the Aisne Marne American Cemetery due to bad weather.

Trudeau said: “As we sit here in the rain, thinking how uncomfortable we must be these minutes as our suits get wet, our hair gets wet…it’s all the more fitting that we remember on that day in Dieppe the rain wasn’t rain. It was bullets.”

Trump sparked widespread condemnation after he couldn’t be bothered to show up to honor the fallen soldiers and our veterans because of the bad weather. He stayed back at the hotel to watch Fox News and rage tweet. It’s ironic that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly attended.

Angela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron, who ticked Trump off over his call for a united defense to protect Europe from Russia, China and U.S., also visited the cemetery.
