“I’m proud to shut down the government,” Donald Trump rants as an Oval Office meeting over the border wall with Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Chuck Schumer goes off the rails.
“I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck, because the people of this country don’t want criminal and people that have lots of problems and drugs pouring into our country,” Trump said.
“I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I’m not going to blame you for it,” he said.
Schumer called Trump a “Pinocchio” to his face citing a report in the Washington Post about his changing numbers about the cost of the wall, adding that “elections have consequences.”
Trump wants to hold the government hostage over the border wall, which he repeatedly said Mexico would pay for. So, um, shouldn’t he be railing at Mexico and not the Democratic leaders?
Pelosi stood her ground and interjected that it would be a Trump shutdown, to which he said he’d be glad to take the blame. That’s a 2020 presidential campaign ad…the Very Stable Genius taking the blame to furlough government workers in the heart of the holiday season.

Trump thought it was a good idea to bring cameras into what was expected to be a private meeting. Well, he got his *ss kicked by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.
