Michael Flynn’s business partner Bijan Kian (Bijan Rafiekian) was charged with illegal lobbying and conspiracy for attempting to get Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen extradited.

“A business partner of Michael Flynn is being charged with acting as an agent of a foreign government and conspiracy for attempting to get Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen extradited from the United States,” the Washington Post reports. Kian also worked on the Trump transition team.

Kamil Ekim Alptekin, 41, of Istanbul, was also charged with conspiracy, acting in the United States as unregistered agents of the government of Turkey, and making false statements to the FBI. An extradition request has been sent to Turkey.

“The plot included using a company founded by Rafiekian and a person referred to as “Person A” in the indictment. The company, referred to as “Company A” in the indictment, provided services based upon Person A’s national security expertise,” a statement from the US Attorney’s office for the Eastern District of Virginia reads.

Gulen is the same cleric Turkey’s foreign minister claims Donald Trump is trying extradite back to his country. This comes as Michael Flynn is set to be sentenced for lying to the FBI later this week. This is yet another case that started with Special Counsel Robert Mueller and was handed off to another jurisdiction, as he in the Michael Cohen case. In other words, Mueller’s investigation is vast and Donald Trump should be very, very worried.
