Former attorney general Eric Holder calls for Donald Trump’s impeachment if Buzzfeed’s bombshell report that he told Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about Trump Tower Moscow is true. Special counsel Robert Mueller’s office has since disputed the claims.
Holder tweeted: “If true — and proof must be examined — Congress must begin impeachment proceedings and Barr must refer, at a minimum, the relevant portions of material discovered by Mueller. This is a potential inflection point.”
Buzzfeed dropped the bombshell report Thursday night: “President Donald Trump directed his longtime attorney Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about negotiations to build a Trump Tower in Moscow, according to two federal law enforcement officials involved in an investigation of the matter.”
“Trump also supported a plan, set up by Cohen, to visit Russia during the presidential campaign, in order to personally meet President Vladimir Putin and jump-start the tower negotiations. “Make it happen,” the sources said Trump told Cohen.”
Special Counsel Robert Mueller isn’t taking Michael Cohen’s word for it. He reportedly has the receipts — text messages, emails, etc.
Democratic lawmakers are calling for Donald Trump’s impeachment in huge numbers. President Pelosi is trending on Twitter as many say that if Trump goes, so too should Mike Pence, who knows about the Russia shenanigans that occurred while he led the Trump transition team.
My maternal grandmother always said, “if you live in a glass house, don’t throw stones.” Not even 24 hours after Donald Trump’s childish stunt to cancel Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s trip to visit troops in Afghanistan, the Buzzfeed report landed with a massive thud.
Robert Mueller's office denies Buzzfeed's story: “BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate.”
