Twitter praises Gayle King for looking unbothered while R. Kelly ranted and cried during his first interview since he was arrested on sexual abuse claims. He said his “brainwashed” girlfriends’ parents sold their children to him.
During an interview that aired Wednesday morning on CBS This Morning, King asked Kelly pointed questions about his history of sexual abuse, which allegedly involves sex with underage girls for decades. He couldn’t handle it. At one point he screamed: “Quit playing, this is my f*cking life.”
King asked him if the allegations against him are lies, Kelly responded, “I have been assassinated. I have been buried alive. But I’m alive.”
She then pressed him on accusations that he held women hostage. Well, let’s just say, he went nuts and had to be held back by his publicist:
“That’s stupid! Use your common sense. Forget the blogs, forget how you feel about me. Hate me if you want to, love me if you want. But just use your common sense. How stupid would it be for me, with my crazy past and what I’ve been through – oh right, now I just think I have to be monster, and hold girls against their will, chain them up in my basement, and don’t let them eat, don’t let them out, unless they need some shoes down the street from their uncle!”
You all quit playing! Quit playing! I didn’t do this stuff! This is not me! I’m fighting for my f*cking life! Y’all killing me with this sh*t!” Kelly said, standing up. “I gave you 30 years of my f*cking career!” Source: CBS News
Much props to Gayle King for remaining calm, cool and collected while R. Kelly melted down because she asked him questions that most people want answered.
Have you done anything you regret, have you done anything wrong? — @GayleKing

Thinking or RK’s survivors this morning. Hoping they have a modicum of @GayleKing’s level of unbothered by that fool’s shenanigans. Praying they aren’t triggered by watching their abuser try to discredit them on national TV and hoping they rest well knowing his days are numbered.
