The #EpsteinSuicideCoverUp hashtag is trending on Twitter amid news that jail protocols were not followed leading up to accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein’s death.

According to media reports, Epstein was taken off suicide watch after he attempted to kill himself about two weeks ago. There are reports that jail protocols were not followed.

The New York Times: “Mr. Epstein was supposed to have been checked by the two guards in the protective housing unit every 30 minutes, but that procedure was not followed that night, a law-enforcement official with knowledge of his detention said.”

The New York Post reported a claim by Lewis Kasman, a former confidante of mobster John Gotti that Attorney General William Barr may have secretly visited Epstein before his first suicide attempt.

Epstein’s death has sparked outrage because he should not have been able to commit suicide so easily.

Donald Trump is desperately trying to run with a baseless conspiracy theory that former President Bill Clinton ordered Epstein’s death. That’s despite the fact that Trump was once a close friend of Epstein, partied with him at Mar-a-Lago and even met his current wife through him.

Furthermore, Epstein was in federal custody in the Bureau of Prisons, which is overseen by his AG Barr, who also has connections to the disgraced sex trafficker.
