BREAKING: Dallas cop Amber Guyger found guilty of murder in the death od Botham Jean.
Guyger fatally shot Jean after entering his apartment last year. She claimed she thought she was entering her own apartment which was located on the floor below.
Guyger said she thought there was an intruder in the apartment when she opened fire.
The judge in the case sparked outrage when the jury was instructed to consider the Castle Doctrine, which is also known as Stand Your Ground. The prosecutor pushed back, telling the jury it did not apply in this case because Guyger entered Jean’s apartment.
The sentencing phase will follow. Guyger faces up to life in prison for murder.
