SAN ANTONIO – According to the San Antonio Fire Department, four families are forced to leave their homes after a fire in eight apartments in an apartment complex on the West Side.
The fire broke out at 5:00 pm Sunday in the 1800 block of Choral Drive.
When firefighters arrived, they found heavy plumes of smoke and flames coming from the apartment building and ruled it a Level 2 fire.
The flames were seen escaping from the attic, and firefighters said it had also spread to another building.
The SAFD still managed to bring the flames under control and put out the fire.
No casualties were reported, although firefighters said a total of four families were displaced. Of the eight apartments that were damaged by the fire, two were completely lost.
Families will remain on site but will move to other homes that were not damaged by the fire, SAFD said.
Firefighters are still working to determine the cause of the fire. The investigation is ongoing.
