Which players might be following offensive coordinator/assistant head coach Eric Bieniemy to the Washington Commanders in 2023?
The Washington Commanders got their boy when Eric Bieniemy agreed to become their new assistant head coach/offensive coordinator. This comes after lengthy talks earlier this week, which convinced the respected figure that this was the right place for him to progress his career en route to potentially securing a head coaching role in the future.
This could come as early as 2024 considering how close Bieniemy came to landing a top job. Something he probably should already have after an overtime stint with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Washington is talented enough for Bieniemy to make a significant impression. Provided some problem areas are tightened up this offseason, the Commanders offense should be well positioned for a dramatic leap forward next time around.
In this regard, we have selected four players who could follow Bieniemy to Commanders in 2023.
Player no. 1
Commanders could sign Orlando Brown Jr.
That would be a long shot considering how much the Kansas City Chiefs gave up to acquire Orland Brown Jr. from the Baltimore Ravens. However, with no new contract confirmed yet, Washington commanders and other league members would do well to monitor this situation with great interest.
Brown was a major blind piece for Kansas City en route to another Super Bowl triumph. If the former third-round pick hits the open market – unlikely as that may be – then Eric Bieniemy knows better than anyone what he can bring to the table.
