Gazzy Garcia is known professionally as Lil Pump was born on August 17, 2000, in Miami, Florida. He was born to a Cuban father and Mexican mother. The rapper was banned on Twitter many times for uploading contents that are lewd and violent.

In the year 2018, Garcia had a running of legal issues. In February 2018, he was arrested for shooting a gun inside his own home in San Fernando Valley. On August 29, 2018, Garcia was arrested in Miami for driving without a license. On December 4, 2018, Lil Pump was arrested by the Danish police following a performance in Vega, Copenhagen for being in possession of marijuana. He was later fined and banned from entering the country for 2 years.

On December 13, 2018, Lil Pump was arrested at a Miami airport for improper conduct. This was after he resisted his luggage being searched by security employees. Although no drug was found, he was taken into custody conducting disorderly.

Garcia’s love to build a rap career started when he was introduced to Omar Pineiro aka Smokepurpp. They began collaborating in 2013. Smokepurpp produced a track and asked Lil Pump to freestyle over it. The track went on to be titled ‘Lil Pump’ and was released as Pump’s debut single in 2016 on the music streaming site, SoundCloud.

Following the debut single release, Garcia quickly released other singles including Elementary”, “Ignorant”, “Gucci Gang”, “Gang Shit”, and “Drum$tick”. Each garnered over 3 million views on SoundCloud. The song,  Gucci Gang became his first Billboard Hot 100 entry, peaking at number three on November 8, 2017. In 2017, Lil Pump released the singles “D Rose” and “Boss”. Both singles racked up a combined number of 70 million views. The success of D Rose drew the attention of Chicago based director Cole Bennett, which led to him to produce its music video. It was later released on YouTube and has gained over 145 million views.

Two months before his 17th birthday, Garcia signed a record label deal with Tha Lights Global and Warner Bros. Records, just two months before his seventeenth birthday. His contract was however voided in the summer of 2018 over the legal rationale that he was a minor at the time. He released his debut album on October 6, 2017, ‘Lil Pump’, featuring Smokepurpp, Gucci Mane, Lil Yachty, Chief Keef, Rick Ross, and 2 Chainz. Since the release of his debut album, Lil Pump has courted interests from various high profile rappers who want to collaborate with him.
