Dorothy June Jackson, 76, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023.
She was born on April 18, 1946 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Alta Raymond and Lena Louisa (Turner) Carver. She graduated from Quenemo High School in 1964 and attended the Professional School of Cosmetology.
Dorothy was self-employed as a hairdresser.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Colly Creek Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Dorothy married Darrell “Shorty” Bass in November 1964; they divorced in 1984. she later married Dennis Jackson in 1984; they later divorced in 1994. Survivors of her include her son Vaughn Bass of Indianapolis, Indiana; five grandchildren of Eve; 13 great-grandchildren; and her sisters Alice Carver of Topeka and Lorie Kelly of Newark, Ohio. She was preceded in her death by her daughter Eva Jean Bass-Woods in 1998 and her other siblings.
Dorothy loved crafts, scrapbooking, and working in her backyard.
Dorothy was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Colly Creek Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4230 SW Gage Boulevard, Topeka, KS 66610.
