College football’s recruiting dead period starts on Monday and runs through February, so Florida is closing out January by hosting loads of blue-chip recruits on Saturday for the last Junior Day of the month.
Several prospects have confirmed their plans to attend the event, and it’s safe to say this is the biggest recruiting weekend of the month for the program. To make it even clearer, five-star quarterback DJ Lagoway will be in town to help recruit for his future school.
Perhaps the biggest name in town not under commitment will be five-star running back Jerrick Gibson, who ranked No. 11 overall in the class of 2024 on the On3 consensus and n. Florida is an attractive landing spot for any running back with Billy Napier at the helm, and landing at the top of the class would be huge for the Gators.
Defensively, linebacker/edge rusher Adarius Hayes may be the best name set to visit the #55 overall on the On3 consensus. Lagway will be on his ear this weekend and Hayes is already in love with Florida. However, he won’t be the only defender in the top 100 in the city. Jordan Pride (#80) and indecisive edge rusher KingJoseph Edwards (#37) also plan to visit the swamp this weekend.
A slew of four-star recruits from the class of 2024 will also be in town. Linebacker Qua Birdsong (#157), offensive tackle Blake Frazier (#273), athlete Lawayne McCoy (#298), and safety Zavier Mincey (#333) should stop. Offensive tackle Barry Walker (No. 383), defensive linemen Dimitry Nicolas (No. 355) and LJ McCray (No. 401), and offensive tackle Nyier Daniels (No. 541) round out the three stars on the On3 consensus visit, and others may join later in the day.
Inside offensive lineman Santana Alo-Tupuola and safety Semaj Jackson are three-star rookies by 247Sports’ individual measure, but they don’t yet have an On3 consensus ranking. Jackson is ranked no. 679 all-time in the 247Sports composite.

Finally, from the class of 2025, quarterback Tramel Jones, wide receiver Koby Howard (Sunday), defensive lineman Myron Charles, edge rushers Jared Smith and Dylon Worthen and safety Ethan Prichard are expected in town.
