The Wichita Wagonmasters will host the first annual Wagon O’Masters Paddy Party

Even though the Delano St. Patrick’s Day Parade has been discontinued, that doesn’t mean all the fun in Wichita has to stop. The Wichita Wagonmasterswho organized the largest food event in the city with the downtown chili cook off, have announced that they will start a new tradition with their Wagon O’Masters Paddy’s first annual party.

The event begins at noon on Saturday 11 March. It will be located at Naftzger Park and much of the area around Naftzger will also be closed for the party, similar to the chili cook off.

Speaking to one of the Wagonmasters Rey Silva, he said: ‘We saw an opportunity to have another great party (like the Chili Cook-off) which will help support the way we give back to the community through our Good-Life grants. “.

Details are still being finalized for the Wagon O’Masters Paddy Party, but here’s what we know.

There will be a large Blarney Beer Garden, food and drink, a Gaelic Grill with burgers, brats and hot dogs. DJ Carbon will DJ the event, live music will be provided by leading Irish and folk rock band, The Sassanachs, and of course, every St. Patrick’s Day party needs ceremonial bagpipes to kick off the event.

A 50/50 lottery, games and more will be announced in the coming weeks.

Justin Baxter with the Wagonmasters also noted, “”We’ve seen other cities throw a St. Paddy’s celebration and thought Wichita deserved one of its own. We hope to do a few things with this event, host a fun and safe party for Wichita, and raise awareness for our Good Life Grants who serve dozens of local charities each year.”

Established in 2012 by the Wichita Wagonmasters, the Good Life Grants are committed to improving the quality of life for people in the Wichita area. The fund serves a wide variety of projects that enable more people to enjoy the good life and promote the idea that Wichita is a great place to live, work and play.
