Kansas City Royals host rally before spring training

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) — All eyes will be on the Truman Sports Complex this weekend, but this time the focus will be on Kauffman Stadium.

The Royals will host the organization’s first Royals Rally at Kauffman Stadium on Saturday, February 4.

The event will take the place of Fan Fest this year and will be used as a send-off at Spring Training in Arizona.

While the Royals organization has said it loves Fan Fest, it has reevaluated plans during COVID-19. According to organizers, Royals Rally will bring fans face-to-face with more players and coaches than the previous event.

The rally also includes a chance for fans to meet more players and get more autographs.

“Our goal is to ensure that our fans have a more personal and intimate experience with players and staff. We will offer clubhouse autograph sessions with players, a hometown barbecue contest and significantly shorter queues to interact with players,” said Sarah Tourville, Royals Sr. Vice President – Chief Revenue & Innovation Officer. fans can count on at least one autograph. It wasn’t always like this with FanFest.

Tickets are selling fast for Saturday’s Royals Rally. Tickets for the “Meat and Greet” VIP Package with a BBQ Tasting Competition are already sold out.

There are still general admission tickets available. Each ticket costs $20 with free admission for children 5 and under. Fans will need to select one of three time slots during purchase.

The tickets are timed to help control the number of fans within Kauffman at any given time. This means organizers can ensure shorter queues for autographs. As lines will be shorter, organizers say fans will also be able to spend more time talking to players, coaches and former stars.

“Meeting and interacting with fans is what it’s all about, and our players are eager to seize the opportunity. This is their last weekend off before things kick off at Spring Training and everyone is excited to be spending it with fans in a fun new way,” said Tourville.

Tickets include entry to panel discussions with Diamond Club players and coaches. Concessions and bars will be open for purchase.

Ticket holders will also receive discounts in the team shop and authentic shop, access to player autographs at the Loge Level and the children’s area in the Press Box.

Plus, fans will discover the surprises in store for Opening Day at Kauffman Stadium.

The Royals organization says it realizes the team struggled last season. The Royals begin the 2023 season with a new general manager, new coaches and new players.

“This is a new kind of energy that we can’t wait to show in Kansas City,” said Tourville.

Fans can purchase tickets and find more details about the rally and player appearances at www.royals.com/royalsrally or by calling the Royals at 816-504-4040.
