Michael Tim Dixon, 68, died on January 30, 2023 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. He was born on August 12, 1954 in Wichita, to Marshall G. and Betty Jean (Eberle) Dixon.
Michael grew up in Hutchinson, attended Hutchinson schools and, with his parents, was a member of the First Christian Church. Michael loved listening to music of all genres and had a very eclectic record collection. His favorites included Elvis and the Grease soundtrack. Michael was also an avid classical listener on 90.1 FM. He enjoyed watching westerns and musicals while he listened to music and rocked hard in his favorite chair, wearing out many rocking chairs over the years.
Michael has outlived many current and former Disability Supports caregivers who especially appreciated his unique personality and developed a deep bond with him over the years. Spring and summer days won’t be the same without Michael sitting outside in the sun, asking us to come visit.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The memorial service will be Friday, February 3, 2023 at 1pm at Elliott Chapel. Interment will follow in McPherson City Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 9:00-20:00 at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disability Supports of the Great Plains, edited by Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
