FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Wichita State track and field team will send 33 athletes to one last meet before the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships on Friday. A handful of athletes will compete at the Arkansas Qualifier in Fayetteville, Ark. as a setup bout or to compete to secure a spot on the 32-athlete AAC Championship men’s or women’s roster. Destiny Masters, Mattelyn Swartz and Brady Palen are all making their final attempts at the high jump before the conference meetup and looking to improve on their season records. In the 60m hurdles, Joseph Holthusen is coming off back-to-back sub-eight-second runs and a 60m personal best and will compete against teammate Nate Vann, who has back-to-back personal bests in the hurdles. Jaleel Montgomery hit a personal best in the 60m in the season opener and will run once more before the conference to try to better his time of 6.84. Ridge Estes entered the shot put competition after throwing over 50 feet in three consecutive meetings.
