A child injury charge against a Hirschi High School teacher was dismissed, court documents show.
A Wichita County grand jury declined to indict Jeremieh Mathue Taylor on Jan. 18 in connection with charges involving a student he escorted to the principal’s office Nov. 1, according to court documents.
The charge against Taylor, 45, was dismissed on Jan. 19. This is a third-degree crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Taylor, an agriculture teacher, is under scrutiny by Texas Education Agency investigators, according to the state’s database of educators’ certificates.
Wichita Falls ISD officials placed Taylor on paid administrative leave and began conducting an internal investigation, according to a Nov. 8 Times Record News report.
He began working at Hirschi High School and the Career Education Center earlier this school year. Taylor taught at Lamar Elementary School from 2018 to 2021.
Taylor was recognized in ‘District in Pictures’ while he was a 5th grade science teacher at Lamar for helping create a school clinic needs list. A local company then completed the list.
Holds teacher certificates valid through January 31, 2025 in early childhood foundational subjects through grade six and in agriculture, food, and natural resources in grades six through twelfth.
