Catherine Patricia “Cathy” Coder, 89, of Lincoln passed away on February 18, 2023. Cathy was born on July 2, 1933 to William and May Cohen in Wallace, where she grew up and attended elementary school. Cathy is a graduate of St. Patrick High School in North Platte. She attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated from McCook College with a teaching degree. Cathy taught Wallace and McCook in elementary school. Cathy married George Coder on October 2, 1954 and they were blessed with four children and six grandchildren. They moved to Lincoln in 1973 where she lived out the rest of her life. Cathy was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and all seven of her brothers. Survivors include daughters, Patricia Coder of Lincoln and Pamela (Stuart and son, Patrick) Smith of Overland Park, Kansas; and sons, William (Maria and sons, Will, TJ and Kathleen) Coder of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and James (Stephanie and daughters, Madison and Mackenzie) Coder of Scottsdale, Arizona; and sister-in-law, Sue Kagarise of Newnan, Georgia. Memorials are suggested to St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Pink Sisters Convent, or family for future designation. Online condolences can be shared at bmlfh.com.
