A 39-year-old woman is accused of withdrawing money from Prosser VFW.
According to the Washington State Gambling Commission, Sara Lee Luna was arrested and committed to the Benton County Jail on 4 counts of first degree theft. After an extensive criminal investigation, Moon was identified as a suspect in the theft.
Moon began working as a gambling manager at the VFW in June 2019. Investigators discovered over $300,000 was missing from the VFW’s gambling and bar accounts. They also discovered that some of the funds had been placed in personal financial accounts owned by Moon. The string of thefts was traced back to 2019. Moon used his position of trust, confidence and fiduciary responsibility to facilitate the commission of the crimes.
