KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A Kansas City, Mo. woman was sentenced today in federal court for her role in a car theft.
Kerri J. Seaboldt, 32, was sentenced by US District Judge Howard F. Sachs to nine years in federal prison without parole.
On April 1, 2022, Seaboldt pleaded guilty to one count of grand theft auto and one count of brandishing a firearm in support of a felony of violence. Seaboldt admitted to aiding and abetting two co-defendants steal a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro at gunpoint on July 14, 2020.
In the early morning hours of July 14, 2020, Seaboldt and co-defendants Destiny J. White, 34, of Blue Springs, Mo., and Charles V. Bai, 29, of Independence, Mo., executed a plan to steal the Room. The auto theft victim, identified in court documents as “KB,” drove White in her Camaro down an alley in Kansas City, Mo. White told KB they were picking up Seaboldt because she was arguing with her boyfriend. Seaboldt was on the phone with Bai, pretending to have an argument while KB and White watched and waited.
Bai then entered the alley, brandishing a Glock .45 semi-automatic pistol with an extended magazine. Bai pointed the gun at KB and ordered him out of the Camaro. Bai then got into the Camaro and drove it away.
At approximately 2:20 a.m., law enforcement responded to a 911 call relating to the car theft and contacted KBKB to request information about the location of his vehicle using OnStar. Bai later fled the officers in the stolen vehicle, which he eventually destroyed.
Bai was sentenced on April 8, 2022 to 13 years in federal prison without parole. White was sentenced on November 17, 2022 to three years and four months in federal prison without parole.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Byron H. Black. He is being investigated by the Independence, Mo., Police Department, Kansas City, Mo., Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, US Marshals Service and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Operation LeGend is a federal partnership with local law enforcement agencies to address the increase in homicides and violent crime in Kansas City, Mo., in 2020. The operation honors the memory of four-year-old LeGend Taliferro, one of the youngest victims during a record year of murders and shootings. Other federal agents were assigned to the operation by the FBI, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the US Marshals Service.
