The Monster Trucks will return to Wichita this weekend, but many other entertainment options are also planned. These include: music from two tribute bands, a Black History Month benefit concert, flea market and an arts market at Mark Arts.

Monster jam

Monster Jam returns to the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita this weekend and will offer shows at 1pm and 7pm on Saturdays to 1pm on Sundays. The event features a dirt-filled arena, 12,000-pound monster trucks, and world champion drivers who can flip vehicles and ride vertically on two wheels. Fans can also purchase an extra ticket to a Pit Party which takes place before the show and allows people to see the trucks up close and get autographs from their favorite drivers. Tickets to the show range from $15 to $85, and Pit Party tickets are $20. Choral concert
3:00 pm Sunday, Holy Savior Catholic Academy, 3000 E. 13th St.
A benefit concert designed to honor Black History Month will be held Sunday at 3pm at the Holy Savior Catholic Academy. The concert, to be held in the school’s new gymnasium, is titled “TEACH: A Journey of Faith” and will feature three songs performed by ARISE (African Americans Renewing Interest in Spirituals Ensemble); three songs of the choir of the Catholic Academy of the Holy Savior, composed of students from grades 3 to 8; and three songs performed by the two choirs together. Invasion of the Beatles
Saturday at 8:00 pm, Orpheum Theatre, 200 N. Broadway
Another Beatles tribute band is on its way to Wichita, and the members of this band have been chosen by Louise Harrison, sister of the late George Harrison. The Liverpool Legends, who travel the world performing Beatles hits – and who have their theater in Branson – will perform at the Orpheum Theater on Saturday. The show kicks off at 8pm with the Wichita band Across the Pond, performing nostalgic hits by British artists from the 60s and 70s, including the Beatles. AC/DC experience
19:00 Friday, The cotillion
If a Beatles tribute band is too weak for you, turn up the rock at a Friday night show at The Cotillion called The AC/DC Experience. It is performed by a tribute band called Noise Pollution, which is based in San Diego and performs songs from all eras of AC/DC. Doors open for the show at 6pm and it starts at 7pm with the opening act Throes of Rejection. Tickets are $20 at thecotillion.com
Flea market time
Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday 10:00am to 4:00pm, Kansas Star Casino Arena, 777 Kansas Star Drive, Mulvane
It’s Flea Market Weekend in Wichita again, and this time it’s at the Kansas Star Casino Arena in Mulvane. The monthly shopping event will feature 200 booths featuring jewelry, artwork, comic books, salvage items, collectibles, antiques and more. It is 9am to 5pm on Saturdays and 10am to 4pm on Sundays. This weekend’s market will include a treasure hunt with 20 items hidden among the vendor stalls. Anyone who finds at least 10 will enter a prize draw, which includes $100 in cash, $20 in cash or 10 free admission tickets to future flea markets. Tickets to the market cost $3 for a one-day ticket and $5 for a two-day ticket. Children up to 12 years are admitted free.
Art Market at Mark Arts
Saturday 10:00am – 3:00pm, Mark Arts, 1307 N. Rock Road
Mark Arts will be holding an art market and open house on Saturday from 10am to 3pm in the venue’s Great Hall. It will feature artists, designers and makers selling one-of-a-kind items and handmade gifts. Vendors will include Pam Bjork, Matthew Hilyard and Bill Goffrier. The event will also include live demonstrations by Mark Arts instructors. Admission is free, but the venue requires RSVPS at markartsks.com.
