What Not to Forget for Your Outdoor Corporate Event

Organizing corporate events may not be your favorite thing to do, but it’s a great way to reward employees and improve your business. During the summer months, your corporate event outside may be a BBQ to celebrate the season, but in the winter that corporate event may not have crossed your mind to be put outside.

However, depending on where you live, whether the weather is good or not, you can still host a wonderful outdoor event and just make sure everybody is wrapped up. Bringing the team together for team building activities and having an event where everybody can listen to music, eat some good food and have some fun is just the way to go when you want to jolly up your team. You need to have the right tools in place, and that means making sure that you have the right catering company, the right onsite & mobile medical services, and the right attitude to pull it off. An outdoor corporate event requires a checklist, and some of the things that you absolutely should not forget include the following:

  1. A tent or a canopy. How are you hosting this outdoor event? Are you planning on a large marquee or are you planning on an open air market? A canopy is usually a must for an outdoor event because not only does it provide shade during the day, but it gives you shelter if bad weather happens to strike. You can’t predict the weather, but you can predict how you are ready for it.
  2. Entertain everyone. Any event requires some level of entertainment so that people feel like they are going somewhere fun rather than just attending yet another workplace meeting. You could opt for anything from a DJ to a live band or music related trivia or karaoke. You can even set up giant yard games such as cornhole, pickleball, horseshoes, or bocce. If this event is going to include families, why not hire some local community members for baking stalls, bric a brac and toy stalls?
  3. Don’t forget some lighting. At an outdoor event, you need plenty of lighting to ensure that everybody is safe and everything is visible. Portable lighting is best here, and you can choose lanterns, string lights, or even outdoor lamps to help light the way. You should always make sure that the lighting is placed correctly, so have somebody come in and help you to plan this, so that you don’t have to worry about people being unable to see where they’re going.
  4. Somewhere to sit. Any kind of corporate event is fun, but it’s always going to be annoying if everyone has to stand up. You need to create a comfortable and welcoming space for your guests and your employees, and that lies in the seating arrangements. Having more than enough tables and chairs for people to sit out to eat and to listen to the entertainment is just smart. Consider portable seating here so that people can move around freely as they enjoy themselves.
