Some Bank of America customers reported that recent Zelle transactions suddenly “disappeared” from their accounts on Wednesday.
WASHINGTON. Bank of America customers using the Zelle payment platform may experience some recent transaction delays.
On Wednesday, the bank shared a notice with customers on its mobile app saying some Zelle transactions may not be placed on accounts as requested. Bank of America promised the transfers would be completed as soon as possible and apologized.
Notification to customers came as several angry customers shared their concerns with the Bank of America customer support account on Twittersome say that Zelle transfers “disappeared” from their accounts, leaving their balances in the negative.
At the time of publication, Bank of America did not provide a reason why Zelle transactions may have experienced the issue.
In response to a request for comment, Zelle said transactions “outside of Bank of America are not affected.”
Downdetector, which monitors online crash reports submitted by users, pointed to a spike in problems with Bank of America around 9 a.m. ET.
We have reached out to Bank of America for comment, but have yet to receive a response.
