A man last seen weeks ago at work has been found dead in a grain bin, Nebraska police say.
State Police said Jamie Balluch’s body was found Wednesday, Feb. 15, inside a grain bin at the Bruning Grain and Feed Company, where he worked. Balluch had been missing since 2 February.
The 43-year-old was last seen in the facility before disappearing “under suspicious circumstances,” according to a Feb. 13 press release from the Nebraska State Police. The autopsy is scheduled for February 17.
Bruning Grain and Feed Company did not immediately respond to McClatchy News’ request for comment on Feb. 17.
“Our hearts are filled with sadness as we mourn the loss of a son, brother, nephew, father, uncle and friend,” Balluch’s sister Amber Brawner posted on Facebook. “We chose to remember Jamie’s smile and grumpy giggle most of all!”
“Incredible sadness at the loss of Jamie,” one commenter said on the post.
“So sorry for this heartbreaking news,” another person wrote. “Jamie was a character.”
Bruning is located approximately 140 miles southwest of Omaha.
