BELTON, TexasKWTX)- The body of a man who went missing in Taylor, Texas was recovered from the Lampasas River near the I-35 bridge on Jan. 19, police said.
Police were alerted around 5:30 p.m. after a fisherman discovered the body.
The man’s name has not been released and police said they are pending identification.
However, the police “confirmed” that the man’s body recovered from the river matched the missing man’s description.
“The body with a head injury consistent with a fall from a height” was sent to the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy, which will determine the exact cause of death.
The Morgan’s Point diving team helped the police find the body.
Southbound I-35 was briefly closed Thursday night during an investigation.
