Deborah Sandler Kemper, general manager and CEO of the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, was honored as one of the top professionals of the year 2022 by Musical America Worldwide.

Stephanie Challener, publisher and editor-in-chief said, “These resilient warriors are people whose names you won’t see come to light (with rare exceptions), but who work hard behind the scenes to keep their organizations, their causes, their departments going.” . He continued: “Given the political, financial and health care crises of the last half decade, we wanted to recognize leaders who have addressed the pandemic and its aftermath through breakthrough innovation or sweat equity, or both. Deborah Sandler Kemper is been particularly noted for its launch of the new resident program.”
