El Paso musician jailed for possession of pornography

EL PASO, Texas. According to court records, the El Paso founder of Bash the Band was sentenced to 12 years in prison on charges of possession of child pornography and a life supervised release.

Peter Sebastian Felix, 29, exchanged sexually explicit images with a minor, according to an affidavit obtained by KTSM.

The National Security Investigation also found a USB stick belonging to Felix with several videos of minors engaging in sexual acts. Searches on the external hard drive also found files containing materials suspected of child exploitation, one of the files depicting a minor between the ages of 8 and 10.

In June 2022, Felix pleaded guilty to one count of obtaining and distributing child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
A restitution hearing is scheduled for March.

“Protecting children, who are among the most vulnerable victims in this country, will always be a priority,” said US Attorney Jaime Esparza of the Western District of Texas. “We and our partners are always here to identify these predators, put an end to their harmful behavior and bring them to justice.”

“Justice has prevailed. However, no sentence is long enough to punish the predators for the lifelong pain and suffering that the innocent children who become their victims will suffer,” said Special Agent Francisco B. Barrola in charge of HSI El Paso. “HSI continues to work tirelessly with our law enforcement partners to investigate, arrest and prosecute child abusers as part of our shared mission to protect children and prosecute perpetrators whose behavior has no place in our society.
