Shop at the discount retailer on Tuesday morning?
If so, you might be disappointed to hear that the popular discount chain has announced it’s closing its only store in Wichita, Kansas.
The struggling company filed for bankruptcy this week for the second time in three years and was forced to close more than half of its 487 U.S. stores, including one in Wichita.
The filing said the company “has too many stores and shops in unprofitable locations.” Before its first bankruptcy filing three years ago, the company had 687 stores, after this bankruptcy, it plans to operate about 200 stores.
In a statement, Tuesday Morning executives said the company will “emerge as a stronger retailer that builds on a legacy of offering a unique value proposition at a discount to our loyal customer base.”
However, there is some good news for shoppers as the Wichita location has listed everything within the store for sale, allowing shoppers to enjoy significant savings.
No closing date has been announced, so if you want to snag a bargain, you’ll need to be quick.
