Just when you think you can’t take winter one more day, there’s a light on the horizon! We’re not talking spring, but we’re talking winter fireworks!
Usually, in mid-February, cabin fever has officially set in for people in western Massachusetts. We can’t wait to get out of the house as some warm-weather nibbles bode for an early spring. What better reason to get the whole family out of the house than one of our country’s favorite pastimes… FIREWORKS!
Fireworks are normally associated with summer celebrations, whether it’s kicking off the season on Memorial Day or the best fireworks celebration of the year, the 4th of July, we always think of the summer months for fireworks. It’s contrived, but they can be spectacular in the winter.
The winter fireworks returned to downtown Pittsfield, MA to celebrate the 10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival on Saturday, February 26 at Pittsfield’s First Street Common. Greylock Federal Credit Union has stepped up to sponsor an incredible 10 minutes of fireworks at this free, public event.
The show will start as close to 6pm as possible and there will be ten minutes of fireworks to celebrate the holiday with a bang. If you want to get there early, Berkshire United Way will be around before the event for an afternoon full of family fun before the fireworks begin.
The rain date for this event is Sunday February 23rd at 6pm.
