TCU Horned Frogs fans react in the second half against the Georgia Bulldogs in the National College Football Championship playoff at SoFi Stadium on Monday.
Steph Chambers/Getty ImagesMany Texas Christian University fans are still trying to figure out what happened during Monday night’s loss in the 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship game against Georgia. Others are reacting to the TCU Horned Frogs’ crushing 65-7 loss on social media, and Georgia didn’t wait long to announce their win.
The game wasn’t over yet on Monday night, January 9th, and the Georgia Bulldogs tweeted a strange meme video simply titled “hypnoDAWG.mp4”. In the video, a snapshot of the TCU “Hypno Horned Frog” meme was taken, showing the hypno frog-eyed Georgia Bulldog mascot surrounded by swirling psychedelic colors over a generic EDM tune.
The video was snarky gloating against TCU, which was drowned out by a huge 38-7 deficit at halftime.
TCU wasn’t the only one to get a huge “L” on Monday night. Another video that is going viral on social media is from Houston businessman Jim Mackingwale, better known colloquially as Mattress Mac, after he lost his $3.1 million bet on TCU.
Phew.
Of note, Mattress Mack, a serial sports gambler, recently won $75 million from his bet on the Houston Astros to win the World Series.
The rest of college football Twitter took off with more memes haunting TCU fans and players who witnessed Georgia bullying TCU into winning at SoFi Stadium.
