LAWRENCE, Ks. — With only weeks left in college basketball’s regular season, two conference powers prepare to face off Sunday as the Kansas Jayhawks host the Baylor Bears in a top-10 matchup.

It’s a fight for first place in the Big 12, as there are six teams within two games of the No. 1 position in the conference. The two teams engaged in a three-way tie for first place in the conference with Texas.
Baylor has been on a bit since going down last month in Austin against the ‘Horns, after going on a four-game winning streak, including defeating West Virginia last Monday. The Bears have fared well against ranked teams so far this season, as they are 3-3 so far against top 25 schools. Baylor is looking to do something they have struggled to do this season, and that is win in away. So far, the Bears are only 4-3 in enemy territory.
Kansas rested slightly less than the Bears, as they were tasked with facing Oklahoma State on Valentine’s Day. The Jayhawks have won consecutive games, including a win over Texas 12 days ago, and are victorious in four of their last five games. Kansas sits alone in third place in an 8-4 clip in conference action. Jalen Wilson was the team’s catalyst on offense, averaging 20.6 points per game.
Although the Bears have won their last two matchups against the Jayhawks, Kansas is 30-9 all-time against Baylor.
