HOUSTON (KIAH) – Here’s what you missed on the eyewitness news at 9 o’clock here on CW39 Houston.

Shooting from an ambush at a gas station claimed the lives of two people

Two men were shot dead in an ambush at a gas station in the 15300 block of Ella Boulevard near Barren Springs in northwest Harris County.

According to the sheriff, up to 70 shots were fired. According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the suspects fled in a white sedan.

No arrests were made.

Police find fetus buried in Brenham

Shocking discovery in Brenham: Police say they’ve found a buried fruit in the woods.

Officers were called to Holt Park Sunday after witnesses saw a man and woman who looked like teenagers coming out of the woods with a shovel.

The officers searched the area and found a shallow grave with a fetus inside.

The police are still looking for those who left the forest.

‘High-heeled car thief’ to stand trial for robbery

The woman, known as the “high-heeled hijacker”, appeared in court on Monday.

Lisa Coleman is accused of robbing several businesses in the Gallery area – wearing heels.

She is also accused of kidnapping a woman from a Galleria garage and forcing her to withdraw cash from ATMs.

Suspect in Walmart shooting pleads guilty to federal charges

A man accused of killing nearly two dozen people in a racist attack on a Texas Walmart plans to plead guilty to federal charges in the case.

This is according to court records filed days after the federal government said it would not seek the death penalty in the case.

Patrick Crusius remains charged in state court with capital murder and could still face the death penalty in Texas for the 2019 mass shooting that killed 23 people at a Walmart store in El Paso.

In court on Saturday, defense attorneys asked for a hearing so that Crusius could plead guilty to federal charges. He is charged with federal hate crimes and gun violations.

U.S. District Judge David Guaderrama, in his order on Monday, scheduled a hearing for February 8 in El Paso.
