The Arkansas State Fair named its first woman CEO, a press release said Tuesday afternoon.
Little Rock native Tiffany Wilkerson has been named CEO of the Arkansas State Fair, the report said.
“Not only is she the first woman to serve as ASF’s CEO, but she’s also the first African-American general manager, and at 39, she’s the youngest in the position,” officials said.
Wilkerson previously worked for the Arkansas Livestock Show Association. The press release states that she has held several positions over the past 20 years, including commercial exhibition coordinator, box office manager and director of administration.
The announcement says that as CEO, she will be responsible for overseeing all business operations, as well as directing all activities for the promotion, preparation and holding of the annual state fair.
Wilkerson will also work to maintain the business organization and structure to operate the Arkansas Fairgrounds year-round, officials said.
“I am delighted with this opportunity,” Wilkerson told officials in a press release, “I intend to use my 20 years of experience and build on our recent successes. There is no limit to the Arkansas State Fair and our Association.”
