Man shot dead after breaking into apartment near city center, SAPD reports

SAN ANTONIO – A man was fatally shot after San Antonio police said he broke into another man’s apartment near downtown.

The incident happened around 3:00 pm on Saturday in the 300th block of Tulipan Walk Street.

When the police arrived, they found a man in his 30s who had been shot once in the apartment. His name has not been released.

Police said the shooter and a witness to the incident were in the apartment when a man approached their front door and threatened them for several days. According to SAPD, the man knocked and eventually squeezed inside.

According to police, the man living in the apartment pulled out a gun and shot the attacker in the lower torso. The man who shot him died at the scene.

Authorities believe the attacker and the man who lived in the apartment may be related, but the investigation is still preliminary. Whether the shooter will be charged is unknown.
