Morant says Indy’s sensational helmet was his best

INDIANAPOLIS “For Ja Morant, the answer was slam dunk. His ferocious jam Saturday night was his best.

“Yeah, easy,” he said due to his difficulty when asked if he is the best in his rapidly growing collection of sensational punches. “This is what everyone has been waiting for. I finally did it.”

Moranta’s dunk came in the third quarter Memphis Grizzlies win 130-112 over the Indiana Pacers. He drove left into the middle of the lane, took the ball in his right hand and pulled his arm far back to easily throw it over jumping Pacers big man Jalen Smith.

Teammates jumped off the bench in delight, and there was a quick reaction on social media, with Morant admiring his work in a tweet and warning other players after the game.

“Jump with me if you want to go viral” He wrote due to a tweet from an NBA account showing multiple angles of the dunk.

The No. 2 pick in the 2019 draft has quickly become one of the NBA’s highest scoring players and one of the best players. The 2020 Rookie of the Year made his first All-Star appearance last season and was named the Most Improved Player.

He would appear to be in contention for yet another award, the slam dunk contest trophy, if he ever competes in an NBA All-Star Weekend event.

Donovan Mitchell of Cleveland, the 2018 winner, encouraged Morant to show his skills in Salt Lake City in response to Morant’s tweet.

“Bruh, just do… dunk contest,” He wrote.
