Moss Rose Center will open as a warming center from Sunday evening to Monday morning

KILLIN, TX (KWTX) – The Moss Rose Center will open as part of the Killeen Warming Center on Sunday evening.

The city of Killeen will open a warming center for those in need at 18:00. January 22 to 9 a.m. January 23 at the 1103 East Avenue E.

Dinner will be served and the center will remain open overnight to provide shelter to those in need.

According to Janelle J. Lewis Ford, a spokeswoman for Killeen, if no one uses the service by 11:30 p.m., the heating center will close.

Urban heating centers are designed to provide temporary relief from the cold.

The center does not offer full accommodation services as beds, bedding and showers are not provided.
