EL PASO, TX (CNN NEWSOURCE) – New York City Mayor Eric Adams is on the Texas-Mexico border this weekend.
On Sunday, Adams makes several stops along the border to familiarize himself with the conditions of the asylum seekers.
The trip was announced hours after Adams filed an Emergency Mutual Assistance Request with New York State, saying the city was at a “breaking point” and needed help to shelter the migrants.
Adams also met with El Paso Mayor Oscar Lizer.
In a tweet, Adams said: “This is a national crisis and we need a national solution. Mayors like @OscarLeeser and I are on the front lines and we need federal support.”
