Jalen Wilson scored 22 points, including one in a string of huge three-pointers down the stretch, and No. 9 Kansas held off host Kentucky 77-68 Saturday night in an SEC/Big 12 Challenge.
The Jayhawks (17-4) finally took the lead midway through the first half. Gradey Dick and Wilson provided two of their biggest shots with consecutive three-pointers for two possession leads, with Wilson’s three making it 70-64 with 4:13 remaining.
Oscar Tshiebwe hit two free throws to bring Kentucky within four, but Kevin McCullar Jr. hit 3 more throws for a 73-66 lead. Tshiebwe had 18 points and nine rebounds, and Jacob Toppin and Cason Wallace each added 14 for Kentucky (14-7), which had won its previous four.
Kansas avoided its first four-game losing streak under head coach Bill Self.
Oklahoma 93, no. 2 Alabama 69: Grant Sherfield scored 30 points, helping the Sooners (12-9) record the program’s biggest win under sophomore head coach Porter Moses and second on the Tide in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge in three years. Jalen Hill added a career-high 26 points. Rylan Griffen led Alabama (18-3), which had won nine straight, with 15 points and seven rebounds.
No. 3 Houston 75, Cincinnati 69: Jarace Walker had career-high 25 points and seven rebounds for the host Cougars (20-2, 8-1 American) as they rallied from an 11-point deficit in the second half. Landers Nolley II had 24 points, including six of the Bearcats’ 11 three-pointers (14-8, 5-4). Houston won at least 20 games in eight consecutive seasons under head coach Kelvin Sampson.
No. 6 Arizona 95, Washington 72: Azuolas Tubelis had 25 points and 10 rebounds, Oumar Ballo added 21 points and 12 rebounds, and the Wildcats (19-3, 8-3 Pac-12) had a big run in the second time to walk away from the Huskies (13-10, 5-7). Keion Brooks Jr. led Washington with 25 points.
Mississippi State 81, No. 11 Texas Christian 74 (OT): Tolu Smith had season-high 27 points, 13 rebounds and five assists for the host Bulldogs, as they ended a five-game losing streak. Damion Baugh’s 19 points led the Horned Frogs.
#4 Tennessee 82, #10 Texas 71: Zakai Zeigler had 22 points and 10 assists for the host volunteers (18-3), who held Longhorns leading scorer Marcus Carr to 11 points.
Missouri 78, No. 12 Iowa State 61: Kobe Brown scored 20 points and D’Moi Hodge added 17 and 12 rebounds for the host Tigers (16-5) in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.
No. 17 Baylor 67, Arkansas 64: Freshman Keyonte George scored 24 points, including seven straight down the stretch, as the Bears (16-5) beat the visiting Razorbacks (14-7) in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge . The former Southwest Conference rivals met for the 145th time; the Bears won their previous meeting 81-72 in the Elite Eight two seasons ago en route to the national title.

Illinois 61, Wisconsin 51: Matthew Mayer scored 18 of his career-high 26 points in the second half for the Illinois (15-6, 6-4 Big Ten) against the Badgers (12-8, 4-6) in Madison, Wis. Max Klesmit returned from a two-game injured absence to score 12 for Wisconsin.
Indiana 86, Ohio State 70: Freshman Jalen Hood-Schifino hit a career-high six three-point shots and scored 20 of his 24 points in the first half for the host Hoosiers (15-6, 6-4). Brice Sensabaugh led Ohio State (11-10, 3-7) with 23 points and six rebounds.
Maryland 82, Nebraska 63: Jahmir Young had 18 points, seven assists and six steals as he led the Terrapins (14-7, 5-5). Derrick Walker had 16 points and eight rebounds for Nebraska (10-12, 2-7).
Summit
South Dakota 81, St. Thomas 67: The Tommies (14-10, 5-6) got 26 points off Parker Bjorklund but suffered their first home loss of the season.
Women
No. 18 Iowa State 86, No. fourth quarter to close Oklahoma (16-4). Robertson’s first field goal passed Mitchell, who had 497 triples when she finished at Ohio State in 2018. ISU’s Ashley Joens moved into third place all-time in the Big 12, passing Courtney Paris.
No. 10 Iowa 80, Nebraska 76: Caitlin Clark shot just 9-of-26 but had 33 points and 12 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the season for the hosts Hawkeyes in their sixth straight win. Sam Haiby scored 16 for Nebraska, who rallied as Iowa went 2-for-14 in the fourth quarter.
St. Thomas 70, South Dakota 64: The Tommies (8-12, 3-8 Summit) led by as many as 20 points in the fourth quarter before holding off the Coyotes (11-11, 7-4) in Vermillion, SD Jo Langbehn led St. Thomas with 15 points.
