The Overland Park City Council voted 11-1 on Monday night to approve a deal with a Kansas City real estate company to finalize design plans for the new Overland Park Farmers’ Market. The market will be located along Marty Street between West 79th and West 80th Streets. As part of the project, a 100-unit apartment complex will be completed. This summer, the city is expected to provide more details on the canopy materials to shade the market square, along with financing options. Construction could begin around 2024. The OP Farmer’s Market will operate in its current location until at least 2023.
