Prairie Village man receives 13-year prison sentence for DWI accident that killed MU Board of Curators student representative
A 31-year-old man from Prairie Village, Kan. will spend the next 13 years in prison in connection with a fatal DWI accident in Kansas City.

A 31-year-old man from Prairie Village, Kan. will spend the next 13 years in prison in connection with a fatal DWI accident in Kansas City. Zachary Zorich was sentenced Friday in Jackson County for his involvement in a June 2022 crash at 75th and Ward Parkway. Kansas City Police investigators determined that Zorich’s vehicle was traveling at high speed as it approached Ward Parkway. The vehicle ran a red light and struck the victim’s vehicle. Remington Williams, 26, was identified as the person killed that day. Williams was a student representative on the University of Missouri Board of Curators. A DUI officer ruled that Zorich should be arrested for drunk driving.
