Samsung, a multinational manufacturer of various consumer products, will increase its office space in Plano, Texas this year.
According to Dallas Morning NewsSamsung has leased the third floor of the Tennyson Office Campus, a corporate business park located in Plano, Texas, for the construction of new offices.
The planned office space of over 33,000 square feet will be located in the Legacy Business Park. The offices are reportedly due for completion this May, according to documents filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Back in 2018, the South Korean company ended its operations in North Texas by opening an office on the mixed-use Legacy Central campus. There, Samsung provided over 200,000 square feet of office space for its 1,000 employees.
The international company has since added 75,000 square feet of offices to its original Plano location on U.S. Route 75 and Heritage Street back in 2020. In addition, in 2021, the company expanded its offices by an additional 60,000 square feet at the Legacy Central building located at 6625 Declaration Way, according to Dallas Morning News.
The latest office building project is being developed by architects from the Camden Design Group, a Dallas-based architecture firm.
In addition to expanding the number of offices, Samsung will also increase its distribution capacity in the North Texas area. The company will reportedly take over 200,000 square feet of expanded warehouse space in Coppell, Texas.
According to state filings, the expanded space for Samsung’s distribution centers will be located at 240 Dividend Drive – in Point West Business Park – just north of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Samsung originally moved to a business park located in Koppell back in 2009.
