Watch out, Gumby: the world of Claymation just got a little heavier today with the release of The Convalescence’s latest single and music video for “No Survivors”. Shot entirely through clay animation, the video is a unique and whimsical look at what a heavy metal video could be.
Singer Keith Wampler said the classic sci-fi franchise Aliens was the main focus. It also helps, he said, that the song features Carnifex singer Scott Ian Lewis, which adds another dimension to the track.
“The single is one of the most impactful songs we have ever released. The lyrics and video were inspired by the Alien movies, and having Scott sing nastily really helped give him the brutality we were looking for. We played it live on our recent European tour and loved the energy it brings to the stage. We can’t wait for this to be part of our live show for many tours to come. This new album is basically like a big horror movie, song after song, each one telling a story. Everyone is brutal in their own way.
In addition to a new album in the works to accompany this new single, The Convalescence will tour this March with Casket Robbery and Ignominious. The 16-date tour will begin in Jackson, Michigan on March 10 and conclude on March 25 in Chersterfield, Michigan. For more information on tour dates and locations, be sure to scroll below the video.
