The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Sunday night in Kansas City. Just before 1 a.m., officers were called to the sound of gunfire in the Meyer Blvd and Swope Pkwy area. Upon arrival, the KCPD began searching the area and located a victim inside a vehicle just north of East 55th Street and Cleveland Ave. On Monday morning, police identified the victim as 20-year-old Thomas Lewis. He suffered from obvious gunshot wounds. EMS responded to the scene and pronounced Lewis dead. Crime scene investigators and personnel are examining the scene for evidence and looking for any potential witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call the detectives at 816-234-5043.
