Tonganoxie High School FFA advisors Beth Schartz and Zach Callaghan received the recognition last month pictured left at the Kansas Agricultural Educators Association’s Winter Symposium event in January at the Garden Inn Hotel in Hays.
Tonganoxie and McLouth schools were well presented during the awards ceremony at the Kansas Agricultural Educators Association Winter Symposium event in January at the Garden Inn Hotel in Hays.
Tonganoxie FFA consultants Zach Callaghan and Beth Schartz, as well as McLouth FFA consultant Nichole Hinrichsen have received Kansas Association awards for careers and Tech Ed Ideas Unlimited and professional.

McLouth advisor Nichole Hinrichsen was named Young Teacher of the Year.

Callaghan won the Turn the Key Award and placed first in Ideas Unlimited Ag Mechanics. He was also third in mechanics, as well as in public relations. And he ranked second in supervised farming experience.
Schartz finished first in public relations and second in resume.
Hinrichsen won first place in technology and the overall award.
Additionally, McLouth instructor Marie Umphenour has been accepted into the Curriculum for Agriculutral Science Education Institute for plant science. Tonganoxie FFA breakfast is February 18th
The Tonganoxie FFA Chapter will kick off National FFA Week with its community breakfast later this month.
This year’s breakfast will be from 6 to 10 on February 18th at THS.
Tonganoxie FFA members receive SAE grants
Dalton Regehr, Emma Myers, Graham Foley, Grace Patterson and Isabelle Barker are among 60 Kansas FFA members who will receive SAE grants this year, it was announced last month.
Grants are used to initiate or enhance student supervised agricultural experience programs.
