WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Update: The Wichita Police Department confirmed it arrested 21-year-old Chase Faimon, of the Valley Center, in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident in which a dirt bike struck a 48-year-old woman and the rider fled the scene. The woman died of her injuries.
Update: The Wichita Police Department confirmed a person of interest was identified in a fatal collision Monday night.
Police said a 48-year-old woman died in a local hospital from injuries sustained after being hit by a black dirt bike as she crossed the street at 11th and Broadway.
After the collision, the motorcycle driver left the scene heading north on Broadway.
The Wichita Police Department is investigating a hit and run that killed a 48-year-old Wichita pedestrian.
Police said around 7:15 p.m. Monday night, officers responded to the intersection of 11th Street North and Broadway for a hit-and-run collision. Officers arrived and found a 48-year-old woman lying unconscious in the street. She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
During the investigation, officers learned that the woman was hit by a black dirt bike as she crossed the street. After the collision, the motorcycle driver left the scene heading north on Broadway.
