13-year-old arrested in connection with beating and kidnapping of pizza delivery boy

 

A 13-year-old was arrested in connection with the robbery and kidnapping of a pizza delivery man in the Elliott neighborhood of Pittsburgh earlier this month.

The teenager has not been identified. According to a Pittsburgh public safety spokeswoman, the young man, charged with robbery, aggravated assault and kidnapping, will not be charged with being an adult.

On January 3, a pizza delivery man told officers that three armed men had asked him for money, keys, wallet, phone and shoes. They allegedly beat him and put him in the trunk of his car before driving an unknown distance. Then they abandoned the car.

The driver told police he managed to get into the car through the back seat and walk to call the police.

No other arrests have been made so far.
