Fourth person charged with vandalizing the Blue Valley High School press box with name calling

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A fourth person was accused of vandalizing the Blue Valley High School press room with racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic messages on January 15.

The Johnson County District Attorney’s office announced Tuesday that Wade R. Schemenauer, 18, was charged with one count of burglary and felony damage, the same charges filed against three teenagers last week.

KSHB 41 News is not releasing the teens name because they are minors.

Burglarying into a building is a level 7 non-personal crime, and criminal damage to property is a level 9 non-personal crime.

Messages would be spray painted in the press box and around parts of Blue Valley High School.

“Hate and harmful vandalism have no place at Blue Valley High or any school in Blue Valley,” the district said in a statement.

Overland Park Police investigated the incident.
