Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai criticized the Kerala government led by Pinarayi Vijayan as he tweeted a video of a BJP official being brutally beaten by state police officials.
In his tweet, he said, “Barbaric government led by Kerala Chief Minister Thiru Pinarayi Vijayan and state police beat up Bharatiya Janata official Yuva Morcha (BJYM) for show of dissent.”
While launching an attack on the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, K Annamalai said, ‘Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru MK Stalin, famous for his lectures on dissent, should call his friend and ask him not to become his competitor in anarchy”.
In the shocking video, Kerala Police officers are seen brutally beating a BJYM officer. The incident occurred when the party worker was hoisting black flags against the Kerala chief minister’s convoy which was transiting from Chalissery in Palakkad district to attend a programme. The BJYM official was heard raising the slogan “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. The police then arrested the party activist.

Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, security has been tightened in many parts of the district amid continued protests by opposition parties against the state budget proposals.
Black flags against Kerala CM
Also on Monday, black flags were flown against Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan by Youth Congress workers as part of a protest against the two rupee cut levied on petrol and diesel in the state budget.
The same incidents have been reported in multiple locations including Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod. At least 10 congress workers were arrested for showing black flags to CM Pinarayi Vijayan, including Kannur Youth Congress State Secretary Sandeep P, District Chairman Sudeep James and Secretary V Rahul. The police also took Ajanoor mandalam president Umesh Kattukulangara and Cheemeni mandalam youth congress president Sandeep into preventive custody.
Kerala Police officials were instructed by the state government to remove any black flags obstructing CM Vijayan’s convoy. Interestingly, police also removed black flags installed to indicate funerals at a location, sources said.
